In Memory Of

My Brother Tom

My  older brother Tom went to be with the lord, in January,2005, after nearly a four year battle with cancer
Tom was the best big brother a person could ask for, he was always there when I needed him and like all brothers we had our ups and downs,  but  all would be forgiven in a instant because of the love he carried in his heart.
We had a lot of fun growing up, with our parents we traveled all around the country, seeing new places and doing new things as a family. Tom loved to crack jokes athough sometimes they were not that funny he figured if he could put a smile on one persons face it was worth it. He taught me a lot when it came to hunting, fishing, and working on cars. We had the type of relationship where we could just talk about anything. Tom lived in Michigan all his life and I moved to Florida so we  became long distance brothers but we were just a phone call away to just say hi. I'm going to miss the conversations  when we would just be on the phone running up the bill to just talk about whatever came to mind.
Tom was married to his wonderful wife Marge for nearly 30 years, they first met on a blind date and it was love at first site, they enjoyed the same things and they both had a zeal for life. In the past few years after Tom found out he had cancer, Marge was always there for him to lean on and her words of encouragement kept him going. Their marriage was truly one made in heaven.
Tom worked for Ford Motor Co. in Ypsilanti, Mi. and he retired from there after 35 years of service, working on the shock absorber line and later as a quality final inspector for shipping and receiving.
His hobbies were camping, fishing, hunting, wood working and helping his fellow man. He was always talking about the trips he took with fellow chuch members and how much fun they had, somtimes his stories about their outings would make you feel as if you went with him and had all the same fun he had. When it came to wood working he had quite a talent, there was a very impressive workshop in his garage where he would spend hours building stuff for his house, he was always full of ideas on what he could make next. When it came to helping someone out Tom consider it a hobby because that is just the way he was, he would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it and ask of nothing in return. He was ready to lend an ear to listen to a persons problems or crack a joke to make you smile if you were down, or drop what he was doing to came and help with a project that needed to be done.
I am going to truly miss my big brother, he was a very special person. I take great comfort in knowing that he is with our Lord in Heaven and enjoying the rewards that he earned from this life. Good-Bye my Brother, Rest In Peace For The Pain Of This Life Is Over.
